In a yet another step to popularize the club and increase its mass appeal, Sporting Clube de Goa, the youngest Goan club to play in I League 2011-12, has unveiled its mascot Zumba and a theme song titled ‘Flaming Oranje’
The celebrations began an hour before the kick-off of their 1st I League match this season against Prayag United in the PJN Stadium. Goa’s motocross champion Allan Sequeira entered the stadium with Zumba riding pillion with a sizable crowd to welcome him.
Zumba, Arjuna awardee Bruno Coutinho and club president Mr. Peter Vaz then unveiled the theme song Flaming Oranje in the glamorous presence of cheerleaders. The song is composed by the most popular Goan band Sky High.
The club has introduced many firsts this season. There will be a contest for fans in a pre-match show called ’3 minutes to fame’ in which anyone regardless of age or sex can show their talent and win upto INR 2,000.
There is another great offer for the spectators. The SCG fans will now get a FREE SCG JERSEY with the purchase of each season ticket. The season tickets will be available at the follwing centeres throughout Goa:
