Premier League Soccer to be broadcast in at least 50 nations, global rights sold

The latest buzz in Indian football, Premier League Soccer, which is making its presence felt all over the world has taken one more professional step. CMG have finalised the broadcast rights deal and awarded it to the London based MP & Silva group.

The financial details of the deal has not been disclosed. According to Mr. Bhaskar Goswami, the deal is a mix of both minimum guarantee and revenue  sharing model. They have targeted a revenue of $5-6 million from the broadcast and sponsorship deals.

“We are expecting $5-6 million from sale of commercial rights,”CMG executive director Bhaswar Goswami

Mr. Goswami also said that the PLS will be broadcast in at least 50 countries, with the Indian diaspora in US and Europe in mind.

The TV rights for South Asia are not yet awarded. CMG is in negotiations with at least 3 broadcasters. Two of them are traditional sports channels and one is otherwise.
