India might be lagging at the 154th position in FIFA International football rankings but the expatriates growing up in footballing nations are doing really well.
The latest name to join that niche is Luciano Narsingh who is just 21 year old. He has got a call for the national football team of Netherlands, the Oranje. He is of Indian-Surinamese origin.
Narsingh is a product of the Ajax football academy. He currently plays for SC Heerenveen which is in the premier division of Dutch football league, Eredivisie.
The talented midfielder is being linked to none other than Manchester United. He might also make a move to Ajax the next season.
Luciano was also a part of the Dutch U21 national football team.
Luciano has no connection to India at all. He is Dutch-Surinamese.
Thanks for posting the article Jeba. Well India could certainly do with amending its laws vis-a-vis dual nationality/citizenship. For starters Michael Chopra may have been donning the Indian colours years ago, besides a host of others we may/may not be aware of and the article you’ve posted is testament to the fact.
Cheers,
Rahul
