The AIFF will declare the name of the new Indian football coach in May. It will not be Karim Bencherifa, who has proven himself in the I-League but has very limited experience as a national team coach. He also has a contract with Salgaocar who are not in a mood to let him go.

It would not be Armando Colaco either who wants a long term contract, minimum of 5 years. The AIFF is consulting with Rob Baan, the technical director and the IMG-Reliance. They have shortlisted  a few European coaches.

AIFF is zeroing on on Spanish and Dutch coaches mainly as hinted by AIFF secretary Mr. Kushal Das.

They are also planning big to celebrate the platinum jubilee year of AIFF. It was established in 1937 and will complete its 75th year this year. The Nehru Cup will be a landmark event where big European teams will be invited.

AIFF will also have an I-League All Star team which will play a series of matches against a top European Club in New Delhi.
