Bas_van_den_BrinkChurchill Brothers have secured a like-for-like replacement of Lebanese defender Bilal Najjarin in the form of  Bas van den Brink.

Bas had been contracted to Perth Glory FC of Hundai A-League (top tier Australian league) for another 3 months but both the parties agreed to terminate the contract as Perth Glory could not guarantee him a place in the next season.

Talking to sportal.com.au, Bas said that,

“I left because I didn’t know whether my contract would have been extended or not and the club didn’t really have a clear standpoint on whether they wanted to keep me.

“Based on that, it made the decision a lot easier for me to leave”

The Dutch defender has not yet set a date for leaving Australia and waiting for some paper works to get sorted out. He will sign the contract with Churchill Bros. once he is here and passes the fitness test.

He has played in A-League for 4 consecutive seasons. The 6’2″ tall defender is also excited about playing in the AFC Cup 2013 as this will give him a chance to experience the Asian football. He was quoted by Sportal as saying’

“Playing (AFC) Cup … so from that point of view it’s a really, really nice opportunity to get some experience and see what else is happening out there in Asia”
