The U-19 Indian National Team, led by Coach Colm Joseph Toal, will be travelling to China for an exposure trip and preparation camp for the U-19 AFC qualifiers which will be held in October.
As many as five Shillong Lajong FC players-Shaiborlang Kharpan, Rupert Nongrum, Jacob Lalrawngbawla, Zodingliana and Nim Dorjee Tamang , who are currently in the Goa Camp, will be part of the exposure trip to China.
The camp will be for 15 days and they will be playing two friendly matches with the Chinese u-19 National Team.
The boys will be returning to India on the 22nd of August. They will be training in Goa for ten days and leave for another exposure trip to Dubai.
It will be a 3 week long final preparation camp for the boys before the U-19 AFC Qualifiers in Qatar.

It is good that we are going to china. But I think it is too little too late. Look at other U-19 or U-16 teams. They play against international matches regularly.
That is what we need. Last time we lost two close matches.That clearly shows lack of high level match practice.Don’t know why the AIFF doesn’t understand that. Once our age group teams start doing well then people will start showing interest in the game. we should host something like the weifang cup in India
Unless, we introduce more club in district level and participation of school because every district & school have own infrastructures, give them good coaching with video clipping and organize regular tournament of Cash Prize then only India may get good player. or Academy like TATA, if they pick up boys from parents well heighted & physic and adopt and train them at the age of 6/7, then we may get good players.
