In a letter to AIFF, the Managing Director of McDowell’s Mohun Bagan, Mr. Anjan Kumar Mitra, has requested the President of All India Football Federation, Mr. Praful Patel, to review the judgement passed by Ex-Supreme Court Judge Mr. A. K. Ganguly because of which Mohun Bagan had to pay a heavy fine of Rs. 2 crores.
Mr. Mitra also said that since Mr. Ganguly has been accused of molesting an intern, his integrity is questionable and so Mr. Mitra requested Mr. Patel to refund the Rs. 2 crores.
“Having had to pay Rs. 2 crores last season to AIFF, our financial balance was affected to the extent that we have not been able to pay salaries of our players for last season,” Mr. Mitra said.
