I-League: Shillong Lajong FC Beats Bengaluru Football Club In Style

Bengaluru FC suffered a humiliating 3-0 loss in an away game at Shillong as the Shillong Lajong FC defeated them 3-0 in an inmportant I-League clash today.

All the three goals were scored in the second half after both the teams failed to convert their chances before the half time whistle. Bomfin Uilliams handed Lajong the lead just two minutes into the second half as Glenn provided a wonderful cross.

A chance came Chhetri’s way when in the 57th minute he had only the goalkeeper to beat but chose to shoot it directly in his hands.

Glenn, the Trinidad international increased the lead to 2-0 in the 80th minute to find himself on the scoresheet once agains for Lajong.

Pawan Kumar, who showed excellent work rate till now, got sent off in the 83rd minute as he handled the ball just outside the box. Lajong were awarded penalty that was comfortably converted by Glenn to round it off for Lajong.

Despite the defeat, Bengaluru remain at the top position in the I-League Points Table.
