The India U23 football team that is preparing for the upcoming Aisan Games 2014 in Guangzhou has left for a 19-day long exposure trip to Czech Republic in Europe, following the completion of the camp in Bangalore.
India coach Wim Koevermans has dropped four players from the 29-member squad that camped in Bangalore. The excluded players are Deepak Devrani, Shouvik Ghosh, Sanjay Balmuchu and Romeo Fernandes.
The touring team, to be based in Pilsen, will also play three practice matches during their training period against three different local clubs in Czech, Senco Doubravka, FK Most and TJ Domazlice.
The Indian squad would return to Bangalore on the 8th of August and resume training here which will be interspersed with two international friendly matches against Pakistan U23 football team on Aug 17 and 20.
The squad will once again be on foreign tour as they will set up a camp in China (Aug 25-Sep 8) and they will play two friendly matches against local clubs Shanghai FC and Jiangsu FC.
Senior players Sunil Chhetri, Robin Singh and Francis Fernandes are also included in the probable Asian Games squad.
The 25-membered Asian Games probable list looks as follows:
GOALKEEPERS: Amrinder Singh, Ravi Kumar, Kamaljit Singh.
DEFENDERS: Pritam Kotal, Keenan Almeida, Joyner Lourenco, Shankar Sampingiraj, Sandesh Jhingan, Salam Singh, Narayan Das.
MIDFIELDERS: Pronoy Halder, Rowlin Borges, Clifton Dias, Alwyn George, Siam Hangal, Lalrindika Ralte, Dhanpal Ganesh, Milan Singh.
FORWARDS: Francis Fernandes (Senior Player), Seiminlen Doungel, Sunil Chhetri (Senior Player), Robin Singh (Senior Player), Haokip Thongkoshim, Alesh Sawant, Mandar Rao Desai.
