Premier League football is scheduled to return this Saturday after a long International break. Chelsea still looks to hold their position firmly at the top but the injury list got a little longer during the break. Daley Blind got ruled out and De Gea, Welbeck, Shaw and Di Maria joined the list of doubtfuls in their coming encounter. Fabregas and Baines have recovered well to get ready for the heat once again. In this tricky scenario, we aim to get a hit on the top performers in the coming days.
Defenders
Looking at the magnitude of the clashes, it is hard to predict out a clean sheet. Apart from Aston Villa and West Brom, all the other teams look in good shape to find the back of the net. So, Southampton and Chelsea defenders are looking as likely candidates to earn the precious 4 points of clean sheet. Bertrand (5.6), Terry and Clyne (5.7) will be a gem in your side if things go well according to the papers.
Manchester United are sweating over the fitness of their defenders. With Blind, Carrick adding to their woes, the trip to Emirates can be predicted to produce goals for both sides. It will not be wise to keep a central back from the teams but the full-backs can try their luck in goals or assists. Chambers (4.7) and Gibbs can be handy on the flanks as United may miss their regular left back Luke Shaw.
Shifting our focus from the prime of this weekend’s matches, we can take a moment to predict some of the names from the backline who can be instrumental on the other end of the pitch. Janmaat, Trippier, Azpilicueta and Ivanovic will be on the radar in this regard.
Midfielders
In the middle of the pitch, the most reliable name is Alexis Sanchez (10.9). But he faces a tricky test from the shaky defence of the Red Devils, which he can be more than trusted to pass. Now coming to the easily penetrable Arsenal’s fortress, the likes of Mata and Di Maria (if lucky to be fit) can exploit the loopholes in their favour. Mata, after grabbing the winner in the last match against Palace, is likely to start in the first line up.
The fitness of Fabregas is still under question mark, Hazard (10) and Sterling (8.5) are the two other regulars in matter of points. Chadli (6.7), Sigurdsson (6.6) and Downing (6.0) comes at somewhat lower price but had been reliable both on the field and the point sheet in last few occasions.
Barkley (6.7) has not really shown any flushes of his last year’s form but a talented youngster like him will take a moment of brilliance to get back into form. This week might be the turning point for him and as well as, Aaron Ramsey.
Southampton’s Mane and Swansea’s Montero have started to display their skills and stamina. Both the wingers can be a really surprise value addition to your team.
Forwards
Diego Costa got himself up and running in the last gameweek when he was able to continue his goal-scoring form after coming back from injury. He is again looking as a must in your team.
Aguero (12.7) is the leading goal-scorer in the league and Swansea will have a concern over his prowess.
Pelle. Sakho, Lukaku and Valencia are the other options in the front three of your line up. Rooney scored recently for England and may fancy to score at the Emirates this time around.
Transfer and Captain tips
Ramsey can be transferred out to bring in Hazard or Mata. Tadic is also on the list of uncertainties. Without taking a risk, he can be replaced by Eriksen or Lamela. It’s none other than Kun Aguero, who leads the list to take the role of skipper. Diego Costa and Sanchez will be giving him tough fight for the added incentive. Else, it will be your judgement call whether to gamble with the likes of Hazard, Bertrand and Sterling or not.
