4) Winston Reid
Out of contract in the summer, the Hammers have been trying to hold on to their centre-back at least until the end of the season as they chase hopes of securing European Football for next season. However, it seems as if the lure of Arsenal and the Champions League could be too much for Kiwi skipper Winston Reid to resist.
The 26 year-old centre-back has been at the heart of the Hammers’ resolute defence this season. Despite the risk of losing him on a free transfer in the summer, it is believed that Sam Allardyce doesn’t want to lose his first choice centre-half with 4 months still to go. A leader of men, Reid is exactly the kind of defender the Gunners need with their unending injury crisis. Comfortable with the ball at his feet, commanding in the air and uncompromising in a tackle – the former Danish Under-21 international could be the answer to Wenger’s defensive woes.
