Charlie Austin
Yet another English striker stole quite a lot of headlines this season plundering goals in the Premier League. 25 year-old Charlie Austin from struggling QPR has netted 15 goals and set up 5 others in his 25 appearances for the club this season. Though older than the other 2 English youngsters making the headlines, Austin was a relatively unknown commodity who had a lot of critics which he more than justified over the course of the season. Plucked out of Burnley by former QPR manager Harry Redknapp, Austin has been one of the very few bright spots of a turbulent campaign for the Rangers. Knocking on the England door for a while now, if QPR were to go down to the Championship it would be perfect for any of the 17 Premier League sides to splash the cash on a 20-goal a season home-grown striker.
