After a one year hiatus United Sports Club are set to make a come back in the Calcutta Football League Premier division, and to make it a successful one the Purple Brigade are leaving no stones unturned, by doing that they have appointed Bino George as their new head coach who joined team’s practice at Kalyani A-Block Ground here on Friday morning where beside Nabab Bhattacharya and all the club officials were present.
Hails from Thrissur, Kerala the former Viva Kerala coach and Kerala Sports Council coach Bino George holds AFC A License coaching cerfiticate and since T.K. Chathunni he is the first Malayali coach to manage a Kolkata club.
On the first day of his stint the gaffer made it clear that he would like to strengthen the defense line and he wants his team to play passing football rather than long ball game. Meanwhile along with him the gaffer brought five players from Kerala State Senior Football for 2014-15 Santosh Trophy which includes former United SC footballer Usman Ashiq.
United SC is in Group-B of the Calcutta Football League’s Premier Division where they will face the likes of Bhawanipore, Peerless, George Telegraph and their own developmental side Pathachakra ironically, who shares the traning ground with United SC.
