The FIFA World Cup 2017 bound India U16 team, under the guidance of Nicolai Adam, has kicked off their Spanish sojourn with a 22-0 win against Spanish side Elche CF U16, whose senior team finished 1th last season in the Spanish La Liga.

The team had finished as one of the four best second placed teams in the AFC U16 Championship Qualifiers in Iran and had qualified to the finals of AFC U16 Championship to be held in India next year. The boys, however, had already qualified as the hosts and thus made way for Nepal in the tournament.

The first goal came in the 35th minute when ‘Ninthoi latched upon a long throw by Goalkeeper Dheeraj and seeing the rival Goalkeeper off his line, he chipped it over his outstretched hands from about 35 yards.’

India doubled their lead in the second half when Aman scored for India U16 and thus sealed the deal.

The India U16 Squad is set to play many more developmental sides of La Liga teams. Follow Indian Football Forum for latest updates on India U16 Team’s Spanish Tour!
