According to our close sources the scheduled friendly between India and Lebanon, which was to be played at the Andheri Sports Complex in Mumbai on 7 June, has been cancelled. The friendly has been removed from FIFA’s website.
The reason behind this move is because some Lebanese players had issues receiving visas for the travel.
The national Stephen Constantine last week in a show called C2K extra time revealed that the friendly between India and Lebanon might not happen as Lebanon has players across Europe and it was difficult for them to obtain visas. He also revealed that the national team might play some other opposition.
The All India Football Federation, in their recent press release about the squad for the upcoming AFC Asian Cup qualifier, did not mention the friendly which would have occurred before India’s qualifier.
