The 2017-18 season of the Indian Super League is set to expand with addition of two new teams and is expected to be played over a period of five months from November to April.
We were the first to break the news that the draft system will be back in this edition of Indian Super League. The draft is expected to happen before the 20th of July and each club will be allowed to retain 2 players from the previous season.
Earlier it was speculated that the clubs would be allowed to retain 4 players from the previous season, but the number has been reduced to 2 and the rest will go into the draft.
From our close sources it is speculated that the following players are likely to be retained by their respective teams.

Tata group who won the bid for a team from Jamshedpur will get 1st 2 picks in the DRAFT. They will likely opt for former academy graduates Robin Singh
& Subhashish Roy Choudhary.
The draft will not be applicable for devolopmental players who are already in contract with the clubs which means the likes of Jerry,Anirudh Thapa Bodo, Nishu Kumar,and Daniel can be retained by Chennaiyin FC and Bengaluru FC respectively.
Mumbai City FC want to retain Udanta Singh but Bengaluru FC are not interested in letting their 20 year old attacker go. Udanta is currently recovering from an injury with Bengaluru FC.
