According to our close sources 2018 edition of I-League 2nd Division will be reverted back to the old format and is expected to be held from March to May.
The league will have two rounds both will be held at a neutral venue. In the preliminary round teams will be split into two groups and will play each other once. The final round is contested in a double round-robin format, after which the top team will get promoted to the I-League.
The decision is likely taken to cut cost of operation. It has also been learnt that the 2nd Division teams won’t feature in the Super Cup.
