‘Group G’ Consists of Belgium, England, Tunisia and Panama. We take a closer look at all four teams and their chances in the World Cup.
Belgium
Belgium currently have some of most talented footballers in the World. Their current generation is often mentioned as golden generation of Belgian football. Despite having a very strong squad on paper Belgium have failed to live up to their expectations in the last World Cup and Euros, Many blamed the lack of proper leader and coach as the reason. Roberto Martinez who took over the team after Euros will have a big task at his hands to lead the Belgium into the World Cup.
England
England national team over the years have been massively hyped by the media but have hardly lived up to their expectations. They had a poor 2014 World Cup finishing last in their group consisting of Uruguay, Italy and Costa Rica. This generation of English team managed by Gareth Southgate is relatively inexperienced and have a least expectation compared to the previous squads. They might not be contenders to win the World Cup but can certainly be expected to progress to later stages and put on a good show in the World Cup.
Tunisia
Tunisia are returning to the World Cup after 12 years and have been in amazing form lately. They were ranked 14 in April which is the highest in their history. Managed by Nabil Maâloul the African side have managed to get some very favourable results against some European giants and might well be the dark horses in this group.
Panama
Panama are described by many as the weakest side in the World Cup. The Central American nation will be playing their first ever World Cup managing to qualify ahead of the likes of USA. They are coming into the World Cup with some poor form managing to win only 1 out of their last 5 game. Panama can certainly not be written of from the World Cup given what teams like Costa Rica have done in the previous edition of World Cup.
