France edge past Australia courtesy of 81st minute goal from Paul Pogba. France took the lead in 58th minute through a Antoine Griezmann penalty after he was fouled in the box by Risdon. Australia equalised 10 minutes later through a penalty from captain Mile Jedenaik which was their only shot on target.
Australia competed well and France had to give it their all to win the game. The Socceroos were defensively solid but started playing for a draw in the last few minutes helping France to capitalise and score through Paul Pogba.
Lionel Messi missed a penalty as Argentina played out a 1-1 draw against Iceland. Argentina took the lead in the 19th minute through Sergio Aguero but their lead was cut short due to their defensive woes as Finbogason equalised 4 minutes later.Argentina struggled through the game as Messi was crowded out centrally and Iceland managed to defend very well.
