Carlos Sanchez Sent Off As Japan Beat Colombia

Japan start their World Cup Campaign with a 2-1 victory over Colombia. Carlos Sanchez was sent off in the 3rd minute due to hand ball as he tried to stop Japan’s shot on goal.

Sinjhi Kagawa opened the the scoring through a penalty after Sanchez was sent off,  But Colombia equalised in the 39th minute through an excellent free kick by Juan Fernando Quintero. Start midfielder Keisuke Honda who was introduced in the 2nd half provided an excellent delivery for Osaka who headed the ball at the back of the net in the 73rd minute to give Japan the lead.

Japan become the 2nd Asian country after Iran to win a game in the 2018 World Cup.
