France beat Croatia 4-2 to win the 2018 World Cup finals in what was a sloppy but Thrilling affair. The game had penalties, own goal and sloppy goal keeping something you don’t really get to see in such big games.
France took the lead in the 18th minutes through an own goal from Mario Mandukic. Croatia equalised 10 minutes later through Ivan Perisic who ended up conceding a penalty to France 6 minutes later, Griezmann restored the lead from the spot and it was all France from then.
France were pretty much killing Croatia in the counter attack and scored twice via Pogba and Mbappe against the run of play in the second half.
Just when it looked like France will easily win the game their captain Hugo Lloris made a big howler allowing Mario Mandukic to score.
France managed to prevent Croatia from scoring again putting a solid defensive performance in the last 20 minutes .
Didier Deschamps becomes 3rd man to win the World Cup both as a player and manager.
